I’m a third year student at MUM working on a second major in mathematics and a minor in physics. I have a background in film with a professional certificate in film from Rockport College. My interests in science and human experience have pervaded my life ever since I was a young boy. I’ve always seen myself as “just a guy trying to figure out what’s going on.” The science club is for me a vehicle to develop and refine my ability to understand and apply the scientific method while developing ways to show others what I have learned.

I’m in my 3rd year at MUM, but in my 5th year of undergraduate school. I studied at Minneapolis Community College for 2 years majoring in Chemistry. Only because they didn’t have Chemistry, I switched to math and physics when I got to MUM, but it turned out to bring some unexpected benefits. The reason being that MUM has given me the opportunity to locate and explore the bottom of the “rabbit hole” with powerful tools and knowledge. This endeavor has been so exhilarating and satisfying that I don’t doubt it will be the direction my future career will take. Physics is literally the mother of all sciences, having given birth to everything from chemistry to computer science. Mathematics is the language of science that is unmatched in its ability to describe the mechanics of nature. This appreciation is what drives me to continue in such a field. Science Club is the place that I do all my extra curricular scientific thinking. My main interest is nailing down research supporting the existence of higher states of consciousness.
